Thinking about my next class

Our Winter Garden, 2011

I have seven people signed up for my next class here in Hamburg, NY. This will be at the Centennial Art Center on Pleasant Ave. and Amsdell Rd. I have told them that we would do a photographic screen and I will show them how I made "Our Winter Garden" last fall. With that print, I started with a photographic screen of a photo that I had taken a few years back. I played with the photo on PhotoShop, using "poster edges", increasing contrast and removing the color.

When I was satisfied with the way that the image looked, I printed it on Laser Printer Transparency Film.

12 - 4 PM, 6 Sundays February 5, 12, 19, 26, and March 4 , 11

Cost $125

Students will receive individualized help with projects. 

 They will bring their own supplies. 

 One or two new screen printers will be accepted for this class. They will be sent a list of materials

Different processes will be demonstrated each week. Students will have the opportunity to make photographic screens, one-color prints,

multicolor and multi-screen reduction prints, textile printing

and prints made from crayon rubbings.

Class limit is 8.

This is a good class because we have six weeks and four hours to work each week. You need this amount of time to accomplish the projects. The four people signed up are experienced and are all great at sharing what they know. You can learn a lot just by seeing how everyone else works.
